All Things P.J. Fleck Twitter Thread

I'd say maroon too. It seems like DD, CAB, and TJ are a class better than the other wideouts, and Maroon has two of them including TJ.

For me, it's hard for me to put DD (or even CAB at this point) higher than Philip Howard.

I think if Howard stays healthy (big IF), he is right there.

That said, any team with Johnson has the advantage. So Maroon.

The productivity of the WRs can depend on the QBs. It will be interesting! TJ has the experience to create expectations where the others do not. I think Douglas will be outstanding during his career, but it looks like CAB was chosen ahead of him at this point. This is a great way to build expectations and draw a bigger crowd. Maybe that was part of having so many closed practices. I wonder where Brock fit in? "Air Annexstad" has a ring to it.

I thought Mark Williams was looking even better than Howard as the season progressed, so I believe these groups are really close, but with TJ on the Maroon and him being the one known player, they seem to have a slightly better group.

Yeah, I assume CAB was the second player picked.

There are a couple interesting walk-ons in Clay Geary (started vs. WI) and Matt Morse (saw the field a bit last year), it'll be interesting to see if either of these guys become impact players ala Engel or Barker.

PJ's head in those tweets is really ominous...

Mark Williams had 2 catches last year. Even Philip Howard only ended up with the same number of catches as Demetrius Douglas. When TJ went down and it was their time to show up, they dropped the ball, literally. As the talent continues to increase at WR, I think both of them will struggle for playing time.

Yep, both he and Howard have to be a whole lot better to earn PT. Since both are former HS QB’s, I wouldn’t count them out just yet as they still have time to learn and develop. I think one of them will emerge before their time is up and think Williams is that one as I
Don’t recall him having any drops or even many balls outside of the two he caught thrown at him. Many reasons for that: play calling, QB play, lack of separation, poor route running, can’t catch.

Both being former QBs is hitting on the point of why my expectations are low for both. The previous regime liked to recruit athletes at QB and move them if it didn’t work out. What we ended up with was a bunch of players who weren’t very good at either position.

Except for KJ and Maxx.

I thought PH looked promising last year. He got pretty banged-up toward the end so that needs to be considered in him "not stepping up".

Agreed. With more experience I think he could be pretty good. He didn’t play WR in high school.

If they did the draft position by position it implies one of VV or Annexstad went first. If the draft was team-wide then it means nothing.

Not really. Could be that Maroon got first pick of QB's and then Gold got the next two followed by Maroon again.

Maybe Santaga is awesome in the snow and he went first?
