1 of 2 things must happen for the Gophers to earn a double-bye for the B1G Tournament.

(1) If Maryland beats Michigan State on Saturday, the Gophers will be no worse than #4 seed.

(2) If the Gophers beat the Badgers on Sunday, they'll be the #2 seed.

I kinda want to win out and somehow get MSU in our bracket so we can beat every other B1G team. Not sure what has to happen to make those stars align.

Gopher win and an MSU win this weekend might do that. Depending on tie-breakers between WI, MD, MSU, and possibly NW at 11-7.
Gophers would be #2, and MSU might be #3.

Edit:
Yes, MSU would be #3 regardless of NW winning or losing.

In a 3 way tie, the tie-breaker would go as follows:
MSU #3
MD #4
WI #5

In a 4 way tie with Northwestern, the tie breaker would fall as follows:
MSU#3
NW #4
MD #5
WI #6

They both win in the tourney it becomes inevitable.

Wisky as a 6 seed! The thought of it just made me smile!

How do we keep it just like this? Getting a double bye, then getting either Northwestern, Nebraska, or Rutgers would be a dream come true.

We can't be the #3 seed even though we are right now.

We will be either #2, #4, or #5.

#5 of course would have the extra game against, Indy, Penn St, or Nebraska.

Man Purdue getting either Michigan or Illinois is a tough draw. Both teams playing fantastic right now.

Crazy to think if IU or Nebraska win this weekend a 7-11 team will be playing on Wednesday and 6-12 can put you at 13.

Nope, in a 3-way, Wisconsin gets the #4 seed. Among that group, MSU is 2-0, Wiscy is 1-1 and Maryland is 0-2.

For the 4-way, there's not enough information yet. MSU definitely gets the 3, but the tiebreak among the other three ends up going all the way down to how they fare against whomever finishes 7th. Why? In that 4-way tiebreak, NW, MD and WI are all 1-2. They all lost to Purdue. There's no single victor comparing against us...so it drops down to potentially how they did against Michigan or Iowa. Complicated stuff.
