Still have a shot at the double bye in the BTT

Battle for 4th.

Minnesota (9-6) Penn St., Nebraska, @Wisconsin / 1-0 vs. Northwestern, 0-2 vs. Michigan St.

Northwestern (9-6) @Indiana, Michigan, Purdue / 0-1 vs. Minnesota, 0-1 vs. Michigan St.

Michigan St. (8-6) Nebraska, Wisconsin, @Illinois, @Maryland / 2-0 vs. Minnesota, 1-0 vs. Northwestern

If Minnesota gets to 11-7 (wins both at home):

Michigan St. needs to win 3 of 4/Northwestern needs to win all 3.

There's another possible scenario that hasn't been mentioned.

If the Gophers finish 2-1 and Maryland 1-2, they will be tied. If Purdue wins the regular season, Minnesota holds the tiebreaker with Maryland, based on win-loss percentage against the team on top of the standings. If Wisconsin finishes on top, Gophers likely still win the tiebreaker with Maryland due to head to head against either Wisconsin (Maryland lost its only matchup with Wisconsin) or 2nd place Purdue (if Gophers lose to Wisconsin next week).

Maryland's last 3...

Iowa
@Rutgers
Michigan State

Not a tough schedule, but Maryland has lost 4 of 6. That Iowa game at home is no gimme, and MSU seems to be coming around.

Here's are the B1G Tournament tiebreaking procedures.

Still want that #1 seed. Can get it with a three-way tie between the Gophers, Purdue and either Maryland or Wisconsin at 12-6.

No. However, when you look back at the season it is amazing how close we could be to chasing a Big Ten title. Think in terms of the Wisconsin game, the Penn State game and the MSU home game- all games we had nearly bagged. We could easily be 12-3. On the other hand, we could also be 6-9. :)
That's why it is so tough to prognosticate the Big Ten- it usually boils down to how the close games finish out.
