per MLive.com:

Jim Harbaugh's coaching staff is well paid.

Possibly to historic levels.

Michigan passing game coordinator/assistant head coach Pep Hamilton was given a four-year contract worth a minimum of $4.25 million when earlier this month. MLive obtained Hamilton's contract via a Freedom of Information Act request.

Hamilton's base pay of $1 million next season means Michigan will have three assistant coaches with seven-figure base salaries in 2017 -- as offensive coordinator Tim Drevno and defensive coordinator Don Brown will both make at least $1 million.

No school in the country had three assistants with seven-figure base deals last season. And only two schools (Alabama and LSU) had two assistants at the $1 million mark.

Go Gophers!!

Did player scholarships increase....beyond tuition increases? The schools should increase tuition for football and basketball players that way they can increase their own revenue!

You can do that when you sell out 100 thousand seat stadium, plus other revenue sources!

And they will not win a national championship before he bolts.

What's a better job for him?

Maybe the NFL? He just seems like the kind of guy who would prefer college. I could be wrong.

Michigan going all-in. I have problems rooting for that program even when they play an SEC team.

Can pretty much guarantee that last part will change in the near future as SEC and other schools scramble to keep pace. The whole concept of schools paying 7 figures for an assistant coach is just mind blowing but salaries keep on escalating so probably won't be long before a million is the baseline for coordinators with position coaches up in the 250-500K range.

Hopefully someone writes in a good Op Ed piece to the STrib about the coaching salaries at Michigan.
