All Things Quinn Carroll Recruiting Thread

Kare 11 had a nice interview with the Carrolls last night on the Prep Sports extra. Spiritual family that has wanted each of their kids to be Gophers and none have to this point. Quinn said he will commit when God shows him it's the right place.

Until God shows him a new Dodge Challenger in Tuscaloosa lol

Go Gophers!!

Please - the kid is from Edina, it will take WAY more than a Challenger to get his attention.

Frankly it would probably take way more than money too, might need to get his girlfriend a full ride to MN, and then we'd be talking (again, not serious).

per Randy:

Going airborne

On Friday night, Fleck flew by helicopter to Eastview High School in Apple Valley to watch Edina junior offensive tackle Quinn Carroll, then whisked to Lakeville to see Lakeville North junior tackle Bryce Benhart.

Using the chopper was a matter of efficiency, Fleck said.

“You have to find the most efficient way to do it as a football coach,” he said. “It’s done all over the country. It’s been done here before. It’s not a flash tool. It’s a tool to show that we’re going to be able to work the most efficient way possible to see in the in-state talent as best as we possibly can.”

To get Herschel Walker to come to Georgia, they gave his older sister an athletic scholarship to their track team. The big problem was that Georgia didn't even have a woman's track team back then. They actually put together a woman's track team just to try to get Herschel to come play for them.

Uh-oh!

Last night at the 9th grade football banquet, Quinn Carroll was seen wearing a Notre Dame pullover.

Warinner and Fleck can bring him in. Give Warinner a raise. He is doing a great job.

I saw Quinn wearing a Carleton hoodie today, so that must be his #1 choice. However, yesterday he was wearing a Hamline hoodie.

With winter setting in we can move on from the volatile hoodie data and on to the more reliable winter hats, scarfs and glove data.

Gets a nice little jab in there against the Gophers without even mentioning them.

This despite the fact that recent first round OL have come from Central Michigan, Utah, Texas AM, Tennessee, MSU, Stanford...in addition to schools mentioned in tweet. Oh, and Gophers now have OSU's longtime OL coach on staff. God, what as a$$ Reusse is.

Recruiting good OT & OG to MN is hard enough. Local media does not help.

What is it that we have a hard time getting out of state OL guys?
