Have you ever witnessed someone so smug that has done such a piss poor job in their role? Everything he touches is a S^%$ show, and he goes to the state to ask for an additional $147 million on top of the usual increase? Good Lord.

I've often thought, with regards to the U, "who hires these guys?". Well, I heard Regent Dean Johnson on two radio stations recently and I can say without hesitation that he was at best dense and out of touch, and worst senile. Question answered.

Does anybody at the U have any common sense? Obviously not, as Kaler would have been fired long ago.

A new broom sweeps clean (my biggest fear when a new human resource head lands a job with a current client).

And thanks to the OP for finally starting a thread on Kaler. Discussion on his performance has been sadly lacking on this site.

Your point?

As someone who works peripherally with (Canadian) universities just let me say two things. University faculty are weird. University administrators are insane. To end up university president of a school like UM you have to have a rare combination of academic excellence, ambition, and ruthlessness. I.E. nuts.

Never, ever (really never,) trust a university president. Even in nice "socialist" Canada, they are awful people.

Then you're not gonna want to read the Pioneer Press..

Your point?

Point 1: I understand the old proverb, and if a new president comes in "a new broom sweeps clean", meaning that nobody is safe. In my 9-5 I deal with HR departments, and it is always an uneasy feeling, and you need to get "re-hired" when a new HR head comes in. A lot of them like to make a statement and bring in new people.

Point 2: Pretty self explanatory.

Um. Okay.

I deal with a large number of Colleges and Universities (and some high school districts as well) and administrators at these institutions are a special breed of sadists. I really can't understand how many of them actually continue in those careers. Their either insane, or incredibly strong.

Uhm...I guess I'll click Okay

Or you were the governor or U.S. Senator of the university's state.

Way to start a new thread Balds!!! Were the 32 on this topic before not enough?

Kaler says the U needs more sexual assault training. Says "something is not getting through."
I wonder if there is training on saying no to sex being offered by a female predator?
