After the Gophers play Washington State in the Holiday Bowl, Minnesota quarterback Mitch Leidner will get one more chance to improve his draft stock at the NFL Players’ Association Collegiate Bowl on Jan. 21 in Los Angeles.

Leidner and offensive tackle Jonah Pirsig have accepted invitations to play in the annual showcase, the Gophers announced Thursday.

Leidner, a fifth-year senior from Lakeville, was considered by some draft analysts to be an up-and-coming NFL Draft prospect that could be invited to the coveted Senior Bowl for top-line prospects. But Leidner was inconsistent this season, completing 162 passes for 287 yards (56.4 percent) for 2,040 yards, with seven touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He added 101 carries for 340 yards and 10 rushing TDs.

Go Gophers!!

His draft stock is trading in the pink sheets.

There is nothing ML can do to increase his draft stock! Article was a good laugh though!

If I was Mitch, I would use this opportunity to catch some passes. He might make a good TE.

Follow in his mentors steps and become a QB coach. Or check out the housing prospects in Saskatchewan because the NFL is not calling.
