per ESPN:

Best 6-foot trophy in college football: Minnesota and Wisconsin will battle Saturday for Paul Bunyan’s Axe, and it’s been quite some time since the Gophers have been able to mimic chopping wood. Minnesota hasn’t won the annual meeting for 13 years.

“Twelve straight times,” Wisconsin running back Dare Ogunbowale mused to ESPN’s Jesse Temple. “That would be pretty tough on your morale.”

Minnesota last won on Nov. 8, 2003, when senior quarterback Mitch Leidner was 9 years old. Since 2010, Wisconsin has won by double-digits each time.

“I know it’s important to the state,” Minnesota coach Tracy Claeys said. “It’s important to our kids, but the only way to get it back is to win the football game. And that sounds kind of crazy, but everybody wants it back.”

Go Gophers!!

Is there another 6 foot trophy out there? Sounds like this is a winner by default.

Claeys is spot on. I've never wanted anything more than a Gopher win in this game. Kick some skunk ass!!
