1941- #1 Minnesota 8 Northwestern 7
Gophers win 14th straight en route to a 5th national championship in 8 seasons before 64,464 at Memorial Stadium. Northwestern's quarterback is held to 69 yards passing but he will go on to lead his team to 6 straight NFL Championship Games, winning 3 of them.

Gophers trail 7-0 after 3 quarters but tie it on a 68-yard scoring pass play from Don Swanson to Paul Giel. Minnesota goes up for good on a 33-yard field goal by an Iron Range sophomore who will go on to be one of the first stars of the AFL, winning the MVP Award in 1964 and amassing career totals of 292 catches and 176 field goals.Can you name him?
1969- Minnesota 35 at Iowa 8
Gophers hold Iowa to 10 for 42 passing with 5 interceptions while rolling up 317 yards rushing. A speedy, rugged, junior back from North Dakota has 135 yards rushing. In his Gopher career he will total 1,829 rushing yards with a 4.8 yards per carry average. Can you name him?

Leading 14-10 in the 4th quarter, Gophers put it away on Dana Noel's 93-yard scoring kickoff return. Minnesota piles up 315 rushing yards, 162 by a senior from Detroit who will become something of a Gopher patriarch. Can you name him?
