per the State Journal Register:

Forget homecoming week. It’s been celebrity week around the University of Illinois football program.

In the buildup to Saturday’s game with Minnesota (5-2 overall, 2-2 Big Ten), the Illini (2-5, 1-3) have had visits from Herm Edwards and Dick Butkus at practice, both men who need no introduction to college football players.

Throw in Paralympian Tatyana McFadden, arguably the world’s greatest wheelchair racer, who was the grand marshal for Friday’s homecoming parade, and the stars were out this week in Urbana-Champaign.

With all the guest appearances, the big question mark of the Illinois-Minnesota game has gotten a bit lost in the shuffle.
