Official 2019 Recruiting Updates Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos, Stories, Rumors, etc.

I just wanted to mention that Jacob Clark passed for 447 yards in Texas playoff action against powerhouse Allen HS in a losing effort. I'm not used to a Gopher QB recruit doing that against quality opposition. I hope that PJ can hold onto this guy!

The Kid I dont want to lose in this class..

I think Clark will stay committed. I think we are good with him. More worried about Schad

I feel like Schad is one of our more important recruits (him or Nubin is the most important IMHO after the Bargy situation). I take it as a good sign that he still seems like he's going to be at the U for the big visit weekend right before signing day. Obviously can't like that he's taking other visits though.

Provided we can keep him, I love seeing our LB recruit Gordon getting offered by Miami and Florida State.

The picture he posted when he committed had what I presumed to be his father looking none too happy. I felt like it was a bad sign, hopefully he sticks with the peej

Without a doubt good to see Gordon getting big time offers cause means he’s good. Just need to hold them off. I will say that having this early signing period is HUGE with a coach like PJ who gets recruits early. He does a great job

I love Gophers. I hate Tarheels. I wish we could schedule them.

I see. How can you be a Gopher fan when you’ve stated that you’d never set foot in Minnesota? You hate this state so much that you won’t ever come back to it, but you want kids to play their college ball and get an education here.

You’re not a real Gopher fan. A real Gopher fan would be willing to set foot into Minnesota.

Hello R/gatekeeping. Thanks for the karma.

Also, who cares if he's never been here? It's not a prerequisite to being a fan.

The end of your post sounds like a cheap TV promo

Each of the 5 who are not visiting already used their OV on June 8 for the summer gathering. Guessing based on most of their geographies, an OV was the only feasible way for them to get to MN for a visit.

Not to make something out of nothing. But on 247 I see there is an OT from IMG who is currently committed to Tennessee. Has he always been on the list? Or are we making a push for him late?

Chris Aporeghene - The Gophers offered on Feb. 28. He is a 100% hard commit to Tennessee, but the Crystal is 100% Oregon Ducks. He went to King's Academy in Seymour TN before he went to IMG.

If there’s a mystery DE do you think he’s committed elsewhere right now?

I think that it might be Prince Okituama---even better if it is a defensive end committed elsewhere.

I just had a better idea. With the Texas Tech coach gone, what about Steven Parker from Oak Cliff, I believe? The Gophers offered him previously, and I think that he is either a 4-star or a high 3.

Prince is visiting some other schollon the 8th so hopefully it is Parker

Has PJ Fleck jetted to Texas recently?

Based on the weather temperature, probably not as bad as in January. If he slips and falls on pavement, then that's it.

I really hope they can keep this guy.

Agree 100%. I think he might be our Terrel Smith type of recruit who is very underrated. With Barber and Martin graduating next year we need solid linebackers in this class. If he decommits it will be a big loss.

To me keeping the IMG string going is important.
