Gophers Leave Happy Valley Happy After 31-14 Blowout Win

Go Gophers!!

Claeys shakes Limegrovers hand after a surprise win in happy valley.

The Sunday Strib sports section will Feature: a huge article on the Ryder Cup; profiles on all the golfers in the Ryder Cup; a feature on the greenskeeper at the Ryder Cup; a story about the merchandise on sale at the Ryder Cup; and humorous interviews with regular fans attending the Ryder Cup. That will be followed by Columns from Souhan, Reusse, Scroggins and Sid on the Ryder Cup.

Next, there will be a preview of the Vikings game. (did you know that Odell Beckham Jr's mother is from MN?)

And somewhere around page 4, an article about the Gopher FB game - unless the Strib needs more space for that article about the guy who parks cars at the Ryder Cup - then the Gopher story will be on page 5.

Wonderful. And probably true.

The two America's Team's capture the headlines , and one of them ain't the Vikings

I bet the column on Heather Van Norman (OBJ's mom) will be longer than the Gopher game coverage. She is a Track and Field Rock star you know.

Gopher title will be:

Gophers win 31-21 Despite defense still not getting on track and offense sputtering.

Next article will be:

Leidner's season performance could lead to first round of the NFL draft.

At least for now the Gophers Football team answered many of the questions about its identity as a contender in 2016. Iowa looms large, but a road win to begin Big Ten play sets tenor for Claeys' team.

Maybe it's time for Coyle to draw a line in the sand. Either the Star Tribune starts supporting the Gophers or they get their news outside the press conference. No interviews, no credentials, no news. Give the other newspapers the "scoops".

Umm, no. This is one of the dumbest takes. Panties in a bunch?

Hey, do you work at the Strib? Sounds exactly like what it will look like...plus maybe a whole page on Twins and their record breaking season.
