What side are you on?

This tells me it would be a Pick Em or Gophers Favorite at Home. I think this has turned into a must win game to stay relevant in the West.
by what reasoning? legitimately curious.
What don't you understand? Home field is worth 4-7 points so the explains the first sentence. The second one needs no explanation.

With both Wisconsin and Nebraska winning it will take 7 Big Ten wins to take the west.
My easiest path to the West is:
Count Rutgers, Purdue, Northwestern, Illinois as Gophers wins.
Iowa as a huge must home win.
You will need at minimum two additional road wins with @ Maryland and @ Penn State being the best options.
@Neb and @Wis right now look like very hard wins. But it might take 7 wins going into Wisconsin to take the West, so I'd rather have beat Penn State than have to get my 7th win at Wisconsin.
I thought home field was worth 3 points in Vegas.
Wouldn't touch this one if I were a betting man. PSU has looked suspect, doesn't defend the run well and is coming off a complete depantsing against Michigan, while we have looked suspect and haven't been able to defend much of anything, getting by with wins over some iffy competition. It could be a 24-14 type of game in favor of PSU as they rally around Franklin, or a 30-14 game in favor of the Gophers as the regime collapses (like Michigan a few years ago). Neither would surprise me.

It is tough to go to the big boy games after edging out cream puffs.
Winning on the road in either FB or BB is tough in the BIG no matter whom you play.
PennST has experienced BIG level coaches, better recruits, bigger fan base and 80,000+ fans cheering for them.
I suspect the +4 will increase as th week goes on.

It started at +5 and went down to +4
