The University of Minnesota today announced the hire of Julie Manning as its new executive associate athletics director and senior woman administrator for Gopher Athletics. Manning brings more than 25 years of administrative and coaching experience with Big 12 and Pac-12 schools to her role at the U of M.
“Julie has an incredible background, with extensive experience as an athletics administrator and a head coach at the Power 5 conference level,” said director of athletics Mark Coyle. “Her track record of focusing on equity, compliance and student-athlete development is the perfect fit for this critical leadership position.”
Manning joins the athletics department’s staff from the University of Wyoming, where she has served as the senior associate athletics director of sports administration and the senior woman administrator for the past 2.5 years. While at Wyoming, Manning oversaw the department’s coordination with Title IX, while also monitoring and developing department-wide initiatives tied to diversity, inclusion and student-athlete development. She chaired the department’s strategic planning group and represented Wyoming at Mountain West Conference and NCAA meetings. She also served on several conference-level committees
