Anyone this dumb should not be coaching.

Stupidity has reached new heights as the calendar edges near August in College Station, Texas.

Following an incredibly offensive attempt to provide humor at a recent Aggie fundraiser, assistant coaches Jim Turner and Jeff Banks have instead been suspended for sexist comments.

The two combined to put on a deplorable display, not only insulting Aggie women, but females everywhere at the 2016 edition of the annual Chalk Talk seminar.

Well, Texas

Painfully funny when presented in a comedy. Probably funny when the host is Amy Schumer or Daniel Tosh. Possibly funny when the context is a group of close college friends during whiskey and fantasy football draft night. (Context, Jim, Jeff. Context.) - But a fundraiser where assistant coaches educate 700 fans, female fans, about football? Wow. That's a bold place to begin one's edgy comic career. "Bold."

The slide shown in the second tweet is definitely a low IQ moment. You would think promoting sexual abuse is not the way to go here.

One of the coaches involved is Jim Turner who was fired by the Dolphins after the Jonathan Martin hazing scandal. Some people just don't get it I guess.

And they simply get suspended? Stay classy A&M, stay classy.

Wow. They prepared these slides knowing they were giving the talk to a room full of women??

Where's our resident Texas A&M apologist? Does he only come over to GH to rag on Baylor?

Don't sell him short, he also comes to rag on Texas Tech.

And the Longhorns, but I still enjoy having him visit our board. Seems like a good guy. I'm guessing he won't condone the behavior.

This pales in comparison to what was going on at Baylor, but was still pretty idiotic coming from coaches that should know better.

Fox Sports: Texas A&M's sexist football clinic reflects poorly on Kevin Sumlin

We don’t know what happened behind the scenes this past week, and what Turner and Banks did at the seminar — while reprehensible — isn’t on par with the relentless harassment that happened in Miami, but the situation reflects poorly on Sumlin and his judgment.

Turner was fired from Miami in 2014 for his involvement in the bullying scandal — an easy decision if ever there was one — and he’s yet to coach a game since that firing, but he’s already involved in another scandal.

He might be able to whip an offensive line into shape, but Turner’s character reflects poorly on his boss, Sumlin, and Texas A&M.

Sumlin says he wasn’t aware of the sexist PowerPoint until after the event, and you can’t hold that against him — he shouldn’t have to micromanage his coaches for an event like that. But Sumlin, the head of one of the most profitable football programs in the nation, should have known better than to send Turner to be his representative. Either he doesn’t know Turner’s history well enough to see the potential danger, or he did and didn’t supervise.

Either way, it looks really bad at a time when Sumlin can’t afford any missteps.

Sumlin is yet to start the game that is the 2016 season — the most important game of his career — but because of this, he’s already down 7-0.

Absolutely correct. I'm sure these coaches were trying to be entertaining and get some laughs at an event that has played on male/female humor for several years. From reports of people at the event, they got a few chuckles and groans, but few in attendance were offended given the context of the event. It was misguided and a low point of an otherwise positive event.

That being said, someone in the position of assistant coaching and making the kind of money these guys make should know much better than this. You may spend most of your life in a locker room where crude talk is permissible, but you can absolutely not put that on a power point in a public presentation. I would like to see their two weeks salary donated to the A&M women's resource center.

It would probably be wise to run future presentations for Chalk Talk through a test audience of female faculty and staff to ensure this misguided attempt at humor doesn't happen in the future. Many of the women I know who attended this event are looking forward to next year and have encouraged others to attend. Even though these slides were a black eye, the event was overall a great way for our female fans to learn even more about football and our team.

Oh, I think we all learned more about your team because of this event.

Or - A&M could just decide to step out of the 1950s and not be offensively sexist. I mean, even in Texas, there has to be some common sense - be more like Austin.

be more like Austin.

Yup, these two guys are total idiots and should receive some type of punishment. But compared to say, oh, I don't know, how about our own mega-tongue, these guys look like saints. Those who suggest our culture is better would be laughable if not so sad.

He was fired immediately. What else could we do? We shall see how it's handled at A and M.
