It's obvious that this "boys will be boys" or "they just made a mistake, they're good guys" attitude has to change.

In a few days I will board a plane to Lincoln, Nebraska. As the day draws near I find myself becoming more anxious and emotional. It’s difficult to articulate everything I’m feeling. It used to be easy.

Hate. Anger. Resentment. Disgust.

Those were the feelings that filled my heart and my mind when I heard the name Coach Mike Riley or when I had the unfortunate circumstance of thinking about him or that fateful night in Corvallis when my life was forever changed by his players.

June, 1998 I was drugged and gang-raped by four men. Two of them played football for Coach Mike Riley at Oregon State University. The attack lasted more than six hours and as I went in and out of consciousness the things that they did to me are now burned into my memory. Like a piece of cattle I was branded. Never to forget 8 hands on me, inside me, their laughs as they high-fived each other in a congratulatory manner as they each took turns raping me.

Branded.

Sounds like this coach fits in with the trend at Nebraska. Remember all the players who have made the news,,,,Phillips etc?

I think it takes some guts for Riley to bring this woman to speak to his team in Nebraska. He obviously did not need to do it. I'm guessing her message was quite powerful and hopefully reaches players/students. It's clear that this message has often not been sent in many universities (Baylor being the latest example). Another article worth a read. Goes into detail of the "where are they now" of the accused rapists: http://www.oregonlive.com/sports/oregonian/john_canzano/index.ssf/2014/11/canzano_her_name_is_brenda_tra.html

Said Tracy:
"I dropped the charges and the only one who suffered was me. They went on like nothing happened. Did they learn anything? Did they suffer? Did they even think of me once?"

Hopefully this can be helpful to women who are going through something similar and are considering not cooperating in the investigation. The police had admissions from the 4 accused and were ready to proceed. She chose to drop the charges and not cooperate for varying reasons.

Interesting case, because those accused did not claim complete innocence at the time and likely would have been convicted if the current articles are accurate.
