Northwestern-Minnesota has been a good series, as the teams have split the last 12 meetings. NU has taken four of the last six but lost the last time in Dinkytown in 2014.

One could say Minnesota has taken two of the last three

This is a big one. We've been pretty evenly matched for a few years, last year's score notwithstanding. I feel like we're at the same level in the pecking order in the division and conference.

This game last season was the low point. I was at the game and it seemed like the Wildcat safeties were never more than seven yards from the line of scrimmage. We gave them no reason to back off. Most of the passes were within five yards of the line of scrimmage -- with many of them behind the line. But that's really all we could do; the OL didn't do its job and Leidner was helpless. I've never been a big Leidner fan, but between the line's play and the playcalling, he had no chance in that game.

I'm hoping the new offensive staff will make a difference in this one.

Last year was the first game in a long time where I left before it was over.
