Ranking Week 11 games

2. Minnesota at Nebraska
3. Ohio State at Maryland
4. Penn State at Indiana
5. Illinois at Wisconsin
6. Rutgers at Michigan State
7. Northwestern at Purdue

Best quarterback matchup: Minnesota’s Mitch Leidner vs. Nebraska’s Tommy Armstrong. Leidner is coming off a foot injury but is ready to go. He’s a big signal-caller who can run and pass. Maybe new coordinator Jay Johnson can maximize the talent of Leidner, who is looking for a big senior season. Like Leidner, Armstrong is a dual-threat quarterback who still hasn’t reached his potential as a passer. Maybe it will happen this fall for the fellow senior, who needs better accuracy and to limit picks.

Upset alert: Visiting Minnesota could dump Nebraska. The Cornhuskers will be coming off back-to-back trips at Wisconsin and at Ohio State, so they may be beat up. Plus, the Gophers are 2-1 in their last three vs. Nebraska, winning in Lincoln when they last visited in 2014. And having a senior QB in Mitch Leidner will help Minnesota, too.

Go Gophers!!

The increased comfort with Riley's systems will be balanced out by the concomitant decrease in toughness that will occur as he cycles out the Pelini crew. They lost a couple of very good DT's, so the run game should be more productive against them.
