Very rough recap:
How do the the QB's look? Best day so far Sat. Whole offense looked better. Demry nice..still needs to get better. Rhoda doing the things he can do. Green improving the most. Not quite up to Demry but getting there. Understands football so well. Had a couple checkdowns that were amazing after so few practices. QB's played well. OL best day. Good things on offense.
Hunter Register has gotten stronger. Nice job catching the ball and blocking. Excited about receivers. Still had a couple big plays.
OL...we are moving guys around a lot..mentioned Garrison, Fahning on left side. Moore at center. Calhoun, Pirsig and Connelly on right side. Trying to find 3 to play 2. Just get a body on somebody and Brooks and Smith will make something happen.
Defense: Experimenting but not a total overhaul to 3-4. We have no pass rush defensive end so looking for ways to compensate. We still must be able to stop other teams from running on 3rd and 6. Excited about defense. 35 practices or so until first game. Travis is one reason we can do some experimenting. He can get people lined up...great knowledge. Maybe would have been our best player last year.
Coach Johnson test the QB's...QB has a lot of say which side we run the ball...this is a big change from last year. QB big say in pass protection...another change. More responsibility for QB's.
Running backs behind Brooks and Smith...JJ making progress...Femi Cole was but hurt shoulder last few practices...Big Jr college kid in fall. Extremely talented group. Backs did well in pass protection Sat.
OL has to be physical!! I wish he would of said nasty but he didn't...
