Official 2018 Recruiting Updates Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos, Stories, Rumors, etc.

It honestly feels like PJ is quite literally waking the sleeping Giant here. I liked Mason, Kill, and Claeys was a great X’s and O’s Coach (though game management such as in that Michigan game left something to be desired)... but although I liked those guys there did always seem to be a cap on how far we could rise under each. With Fleck, he has more risk than a Kill, but his ceiling is a National Championship. Fleck is willing to work harder than anyone else, he seems to be recruiting young men that believe in that energy which leads me to believe they are willing to do the same. If you believe your team, work harder than others, and have the tools to be great... you’re looking at a program that can rise to the top. Nothing is guaranteed, but I’ve never been more excited about the future!

For people that watch recruiting rankings more closely on a more national basis, isn’t it common for so many players to be moved up through the recruiting cycle? It seems like that movement would be Exhibit A for these kids being relentless as well. Also when I think about Bateman and his tweets about UGA. Seems like he will be carrying that slight as a chip on his shoulder which also seems like it’s the mentality you would want in a player.

Crazy that 11 of 14 B1G teams have one of their top 2 classes of the last 5 at this point.

Only Nebraska, Illinois, and Michigan don't.

I think the sh!t show of hiring and firing in the SEC will only bolster B1G recruiting.

All these rankings will move down by the end of the recruiting season as teams like Alabama and Clemson move up.

Craig Williams got a Texas offer a few days ago. If he flips from Baylor, it'll probably be for UT.

We can sign 28....

Yep, I realized that I was thinking one of the others that we don't have room for.

Last year Tracy only signed 22 commits. If we get AT LEAST 3 guys to sign on December 20th, they will count towards last year scholarship offer. So we can have 28. This means that next year we can only sign 25 at most even if we sign 25 -28 players. If we were to sign less then 25 this year, say 24 recruits. Then, next year we could recruit 26 players as long as one of them signs early. Ah ha, that's why they are still on Brown and Palmer. Get those two as well and that's one heck of a class!

Last year we signed 26 players, not 22. In 2016 we did have 22 though.

The number of players we can sign changes with every post made. Does anyone really know the new rules that were established this year with the Dec. 20th signing date?

The article itself said every school's situation is different. I'll wait to see who they sign on the 20th and what Fleck says at the luncheon.

The article is correct...

2016: Signed 22 recruits
2017: Signed 26 Recruits. However count back 3 to fill 2016, so it really is like 23.
2018: Can sign 25 but there is a 2 player gap from last year, so we can sign 27.

I have no inside knowledge more than the next poster but this is what I have always thought. I'm not on the paysites either though. Does anyone really know??

Looks like we're gonna have another QB wearing #7 leading the gophers:

In the replies someone asks if he will be wearing #7, to which he responds "Yes sir"
