Whatever became of this? A google search was not fruitful. The only reason I'm digging up these old bones is that I noticed the U of M did a "catching up" session with Darkins for Black History Month. Darkins answers to the questions are strange, but that's just my opinion. Check it out.

He sounds like a complete disingenuous d-bag from those comments.

Interesting LinkedIn page. https://www.linkedin.com/in/christopher-darkins-9bb4a36
It also mentions "...and in 2018 received a Certificate of Congressional Recognition for being wrongfully accused of a crime that led to his incarceration for 7 months before being judicially vindicated."
The heck does that even mean?
Is he ... ok?
Even for a drug trafficker?

They had a goal of raising $150,000 but only raised $326 from six contributors:

In 2016, Darkins was accused in Georgia with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute marijuana. He fought the charges while in federal lockup for seven months, representing himself, and said his case was dismissed about 10 to 12 months later for lack of prosecution.
"When I got out I decided I was going to intellectually weaponize black men myself," he said. "The brothers you see in jail are prisoners of war. The economic system doesn't serve them, the educational system doesn't educate them, and the criminal justice system doesn't recognize them as people they need to provide justice for."

The interesting part is that he didn't get the charges overturned. He had an appeal that the court didn't act on in time which led to dismissal of charges.

The other interesting part is if you read his twitter feed he promotes an event "Focusing on beating the crimanl justice system amongst other topics..."

None of this technically means he's guilty. But it sure smells fishy.
