VAULTING?

Just curious, what is the criteria that moved us to #13?

If I have tiebreakers figured out correctly, Gophers with the edge because they are 0-0 vs. #1 Iowa while Rutgers is 0-1 vs. the Hawkeyes. So we got that goin' for us. Tiebreaker will be interesting if we both go 1-17 and 1-1 vs. each other.

With the Gophers off over the weekend, they are now equal with Rutgers in the loss column. First tie-breaker is record vs #1 seed, currently the Gophers have the edge as they are 0-0 vs Iowa while Rutgers is 0-1.

Sobering thought is that for any team involved on Wednesday (that happens to wins 2 games) gets rewarded by playing their 3rd game in 3 days against a foe with at least 5 nights rest.

The #3 seed

The #3 seed always has the most interesting bracket set-up. The 3 seed doesn't play until the 10th game of the tournament (last quarterfinal Friday night). It gets to sit there and watch 9 teams get eliminated, knowing they'll be one of the final 5 teams standing. Then, if the 3 seed keeps winning, they play in 3 of the tournament's final 4 games in only a 42-hour stretch.

Through 2011 the #3 seed was 5-9 in the Big 10 Quarter Finals. #3 is on a 4 year winning streak to get back to .500 at 9-9.

I wonder what it's like to be the #3 seed? Thank god it's always been some other school's problem.

That's not as bad, They might miss their shots in the first half and then tighten up as a result. It's the game after that which is unlikely to be won by a team playing Wed.
