Coming off a horrendous shooting game against New Mexico, Minnesota (6-3) takes on North Dakota (4-6) in a 3:00 PM Wednesday matinee. The Gopher shooting stroke slumbered after the noon start against New Mexico (Minnesota shot: FG 30%, 3PT 20.8% and FT 66.7%). Hopefully the extra three hours will loosen up the elbows.
North Dakota losses: Iowa (83-61), UT Martin, Drake, San Francisco, Oregon (77-51) and South Dakota.
North Dakota wins: Omaha, Northern Iowa, Western Illinois and North Dakota State.
Makailah Dyer is the Fighting Hawks leading scorer at 14.3 points a game.
Mia Loyd is their best player with 13.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per game
Samantha Roscoe is from Perth, Australia.
OF NOTE: On tonight’s coaching show, Stollings said Allina Starr and Kynadi Johnson are ready to play… sometime. I’d love to see one of them Wednesday-if just to fill out the box score (seven players played versus the Lobos).
And welcome back Jackie!

• Makailah Dyer and Mia Loyd lead the Fighting Hawks with averages of 14.3 and 13.6 points per game, respectively. Loyd, the Big Sky’s Preseason Player of the Year and a high school teammate of Allina Starr at DeLaSalle, nearly averages a double-double, pulling down 9.7 rebounds per contest.
• The Gophers won last year’s matchup in Grand Forks 68-55, led by Shae Kelley (24 points/nine rebounds) and Amanda Zahui B. (15 points/16 rebounds). Carlie Wagner added 14 points, and Rachel Banham had six early before her knee injury. Dyer, Loyd and Leah Szabla (all returners) were in double figures for UND.
• Fighting Hawks assistant coach Jackie Voigt played for the Gophers 2008-12
