Part One
It was the Thanksgiving of one year past
Beavcoon was made aware of a hidden glass.
Was told by Magnificent Mole to meet by the river flat
Where the Mole live in his hole,
His never ending extensive hole.
In his hands was a remarkable vat.

Beavcoon was curious of its existence
And where he should receive such extravagance.
The Mole said he had it for a score and three years
Where he took if from a jovial party
Never intending to give back to the party.
It served as a worthy receptacle for many a beers.

Now made aware by the possessor of the House of Essen
Of the curse said to have caused our Gophers years of suppression.
Now the Mole and Beavcoon were determined to rid of this curse
They called upon Ginger Gopher and Bald Hen
For only ones who know is the Ginger Gopher and Bald Hen
The four drew up a plan that would be obverse!

First was resolved to capture the bulk of a badger
Which was found with the help of the Bulldog and a dagger.
The badger writhed and shrieked
But was no match against the strain of these critters
For time was of the essence for these critters.
But its blood was obtained from where he leaked.

To offer instructions to remove this jinx
They called the true sage from the tribe of the Albino Minks.
“Line the rim of the cup with the blood of the badger,” Mink commanded.
As the critters did by candlelight
In Mole’s cave by candlelight.
“Now fill the stein with the beer of the summit,” Mink demanded.

The mixture started to create a rumbling fissure within the cave
The critters scattered to the cave walls to be saved
But the corpse of the badger, however, was swallowed by the crevice
And deep within the ground came a maroon and gold light
After the moment, the voices came from within the light.
“Beath thosth Badthers and the curth forebur no longer be a menath!”

The voice heard was that of ancient headmaster Lou Holtz
Mink replied, “Now drink the libation and give the Gophers strength of a thousand colts.”
The critters drank one-by-one without hesitation.
Each one sensing a powerful lift
It was the curse that would have the lift
“Forever dispense of this stein, and make sure it’s out of the hands of damnation”

Part Two

And with a flick of his tail
Albino Mink was gone within a smoky veil.
It was up to the critters to find the stein’s final resting place
Much was debated and discussed within
As differences surfaced from within.
And to leave no signs of trace.

First suggestion came from Ginger Gopher who wanted it place in the riverside.
But perchance of floating to enemy boarders the critters could not abide.
The river’s currents were wild and unyielding
“Make sure it’s out of the hands,” they remembered the sage say
“The hands of damnation!” they remembered the sage say.
The risks were far too unwieldy.

Magnificent Mole suggested under the depths in the cages of Williams Arena.
But was quickly dismissed to be lodged by lost memorabilia.
It seemed the rodents and the like were at an impasse
Bulldog suggested the sewers of Dinkytown
But the brood would not hear of Dinkytown.
Then Beavcoon thought of brother Big Beaver living on a specific land mass.

When Beavcoon told his kin of the plan
To follow the tracks that lead to this land.
Encompassed by old towers of grain
To the dwellings of Big Beaver
The only tenant is Big Beaver.
Would be the last place where this stein is lain.

As the gang carefully tread the wasteland of the empty towers
They greeted Big Beaver and revealed to him the stein and its past powers.
Big Beaver took the stein and retreated to his secret spot
The critters looked on as it was buried beneath
Never to be seen again as it was buried beneath.
The stein, along with the curse, is now rest to rot.

Now this Thanksgiving weekend will be a time to rejoice
Do you like your chili hot? Then find your voice!
The critters will come out and will heat up the revelry
You’ll find crocks of chili in the corner lot
By the Econoline in the corner lot.
At 0:00 meet us at the fifty to carry the ax merrily!

Beavcoon in the room with Gopherlady and her gang, Bald Hen, Bulldoggy Dog, Ginger Gopher, Big Beaver, Magnificent Mole, and Albino Mink

Beavcoon must have started drinking at noon! 1967 to drive him home.

Wow... Deciphered... Moonshine and chili in the Ski-u-mah Lot. Go Gophers.

So what time are we meeting and what color is this van?
Happy Thanksgiving to All ye Gophers!
