With the entire Gophers offense surrounding him, coach Jerry Kill pushed rewind on the remote control again and again and again.

In the team meeting room Sunday, Kill and his players went through the painstaking task of breaking down each player's work on every play in last week's unsightly 27-0 loss to Northwestern.

It's routine for each position group to dissect film, but's rare for an entire unit to do it together. The group session took a lot longer than usual and kept the Gophers (3-2, 0-1 Big Ten) from practicing Sunday, their first day of prep for Saturday's game against Purdue (1-4, 0-1).

"We're trying to do everything we can to get it fixed," said Kill, who added more mental walk-throughs for the offense after the 10-7 win over Kent State.

Kill's point on Sunday was to show that everyone had miscues in the Gophers' being shut out for the first time since 2011. A tough Northwestern defense held Minnesota to 173 yards of total offense and 4 of 20 on third and fourth downs.

"I held everybody accountable," Kill said. "It wasn't a yelling session. It was just, "OK, what's your first step? Where are you going?' "
