per ESPN:

Minnesota opens the season Thursday night against No. 2 TCU. And perhaps inspired by having an opponent named the Horned Frogs on the schedule, the Gophers are having a little 1980s-style arcade fun.

The school's athletic department has released its own version of "Frogger," in which Goldy Gopher has to "avoid Horned Frogs players, jump on Goldy's slide and push-up plank and score a touchdown."

Here is a link to the game:

Go Gophers!!

As if Gopherhole wasn't enough to keep me from doing actual work.

Kinda cool. But somewhat poorly programmed as the game doesn't work quite properly on Firefox some times.

Sounds cool. The U ought to do more stuff like this. Get the computer science students creating it, and the athletics department can promote it.

Fully expecting some dimwitted MN state legislator to call for an investigation into the funds that went into making this game, and determine if it is compliant with Title IX (proportionate funds must be spent on a video game for a Women's sport). This will raise attention and result in Konami of North America leveling a lawsuit against the U for copying their 'Frogger' intellectual property, and bankrupting the athletic department.

This, of course, will be followed by a flurry of finger-wagging and 'I-Told-You-So' editorials from the MSP sports media. Awesome.

(I kid, I kid...)

That was cool. Like the old school graphics look to it. And Gopher Bandana Guy even though it is clear you were kidding in this day and age I guarantee there is someone out there that will complain about this and probably find a way to be offended by it somehow.
