Illinois loses by 27 in Game 2 of its foreign tour

Ouch. The Dutch national team isn't even ranked in the FIBA top 85 at the moment. From what I've gathered, they have some solid European pros on the team, but I would have expected it to be a much more competitive game.

Down further in the feed is a note that Henry Ellenson went for 24 and 10 in his first game overseas.

I remember when Monson took the team to Europe in 1999, the Gophs only won one game, and that was in overtime. These European teams are pretty darn good.

And now Darius paul sent home and suspended indefinitely

Bad trip for IL

from SI.com:
"WCIA-TV first reported the arrest. The Deauville police department told WCIA-TV that Paul was arrested around 5 a.m. on Friday and charged with vandalism, public intoxication and resisting arrest. Police said they were responding to “multiple calls of Paul breaking windows and damaging vehicles.”

Would Groce give him yet another chance? With Abrams out for the coming year, looks like the Illini might be down to 11 scholarship players
