STrib: 40,772 tickets sold so far for TCU game

I think student section worries are going to be a thing of the past soon. Recent graduates now have the option to buy student section season tickets and any student ticket holder has the option to buy up to 4 guest passes for friends from other schools. So now all the gopher fans who go to Minneapolis and Saint Paul colleges will have a convenient option for Gopher games. It won't be 100% U students, but once the demands heightens for students, we can start taking the guest pass option away.

Part of this is up to us as well. The true die-hard fans. If we aren't out inviting friends to games, wearing gopher gear around town, calling in to talk shows, giving feedback to the university, showing up early and often, and generally causing a buzz, who will?

We're closing in on 29K in season tickets sold to the general public. Just need another 9K to sell out the place consistently.

The good news is over 8K in single game tickets have been sold for the TCU game, so it should be close to, if not a sell-out. The 2-pack sales must be going well.

Gopher student (senior) here-- the student section will be full. Don't worry. Many students have yet to buy season tickets and the freshman getting free tickets does make a huge difference. It's a night game, all day to booze, etc. in the past the first game has always been the most packed student wise regardless of opponent.
