Well Chicago Maroon is no more Maroon than Violet Red is Red. I suspect plain maroon was used for a century or more, thru the 20th century and even into the 2000s, a remnant still painted on the Willuams Arena basketball court.
 

Perhaps a Chicago Maroon Out would work?

As of now..70% favor maroon jersey with gold pants.

Next closest is all maroon at 10.28%

I would call that OVERWHELMING..........Or, a vast majority, if you prefer.

Ask 10 people and you will get 10 preferences. For me, I feel pretty strongly that the Gophers should burn their white pants. I can live with them on the road but always sigh when I see them at home. My exact order as well. I would like to add that gold pants and jersey is also a hideous combo.
 

I'm thinking it's almost a guarantee the Gophers come out in week 1 with the gold helmets. I'm also starting to wonder if the gold helmet will be seen more than the maroon helmets this year. I've seen a number of tweets from Gopher affiliates with the gold helmet.

I hope so. Gold pants/gold helmet every game would be awesome. Just swap between white and maroon jerseys for away/home.
