Sanders HS QB was none other than Gopher's best ever basketball player 'Sweet Lou Hudson'.

I didn't know that.
 

Great player and from all accounts pretty great guy too.
 

The Gophers exploited his pass catching skills so sparingly. Credit the Lions for recognizing his immense, untapped talent!

Sanders did catch 21 passes his senior year. I question whether he was developed by the Lions or if there was a bit of serendipity with the Lions drafting Greg Landry. Landy came out of a system that did throw to their tight ends. It very easily could have been simply playing to their players strengths.
