University of Minnesota Gophers football coach Jerry Kill was at Whitefish Golf Course Thursday, June 26, for a private event. Norwood Teague, the Gopher athletic director, also visited.
Coach Kill, a Big 10 Coach of the Year, visited Whitefish Golf as part of a speaking tour in greater Minnesota. Donors in the area were able to help arrange Kill’s and Teague’s visit, which was part outreach and part fundraising.
Kill said that purchasing tickets to Gopher football games is a way to both support and invest in the team and its players.
“Some of these players would not have the opportunity to go to college if it weren’t for people buying tickets and coming to games,” Kill said.
