When you are trying to build a football program like Morthland College is, what better person could you go to other than former Southern Illinois head coach Jerry Kill.
"He is so highly regarded in Southern Illinois," Morthland head coach Mike Rude said. "He draws a crowd, and that is what we need."
"I have a great deal of respect for coach Rude," Kill said. "Anything I can help with him and the school, I am happy to help.
Kill was on hand to speak at a fundraising event for the Patriots as they prepare for their first football season this fall. The main goal of the event was to raise money for the program to support itself in the coming year.
"It is a great start for them and the people here," Kill said. "Hopefully tonight I can explain how difficult it is to build a program."
