Twenty scholarships for 2016 with fourteen remaining...

It is always hard to know how this will play out but I believe Kill said he expects about 22 recruits for the 2016 class. I wouldn't be surprised if he also awards one or two scholarships to walk-ons this fall.

per Daily Gopher Scholarship Grid. I am not sure if this number takes into account recent transfer, early graduation, medicals.

Will we see more higher talent level recruits in this class?

We already have. Both Coughlin and Garcia would have been the highest ranked defensive recruits in last year's class. The on-field success and reputation of Kill are paying dividends in a big way.

Last year we missed out on a few recruits late (Milan, a 2nd OLB) which hurts a little bit since those players aren't with us this year and will create some depth issues 2-3 years from now. The upside could be that by banking them, we end up with players in this class that the staff likes even more. I think we get to 10 commits by early summer with the additions of Kegel, Johnson, Edwards, and Okwuegbunam. Those 4 players would be a really nice addition to the 6 we already have committed.

The wild card becomes who we end up with at QB and RB. We've only offered 3 QBs so far, and two have already committed elsewhere. And I don't like our chances with Jalen Hurts given his offer list. http://minnesota.247sports.com/Season/2016-Football/Offers

RB is similar at this point, we've only extended 6 offers.
