Director of basketball Nate Pomeday, a former Oregon State assistant and Northwestern player, has been filling in recruiting duties for McHale in the meantime. Pomeday is a strong candidate himself.

But here are some quality candidates with Minnesota ties:

Jared Nuness, Baylor
Tom Ostrom, Dayton
Daryl Sharp, Hampton
Dave Thorson, DeLaSalle High School

Thorson could've gone back to the college route at basically any point in the last 10-15 years. Don't think he has any desire to do so as he really loves DLS.
