Thanks.

So maybe no Green Bay on the Badger schedule in 2016-17 means Alvarez knows Tony is coming to Madison and Tony doesn't want to play his alma mater!

I doubt it. This Green Bay writer mentioned in a different tweet that the series would be played every other year for the next 6 years, so we play this year, then 2017, then 2019 and then 2021, but all the games will be in Madison. It's possible that Green Bay's new coach was the driving force behind this, but IMO this hurts Green Bay because it is hard enough for them to get good home games, but at least they could count on the Badgers going up there once in a while under the old deal.

ULM not likely to be a cupcake

Thanks.

I have met my match. I can't beat you to anything Gopher schedule related!

I have no problem with this opponent. Wouldn't put ULM in the "cupcake" department at all. Return 4 of 5 starters, 5 of top 7 scorers (though they lose leading scorer) from a team that went 14-6 in the Sun Belt, and advanced to the SBC tourney semifinals.

Rumor on the Milwaukee message board is that the date for the Minnesota game is Dec. 23.

Hope the Milwaukee date is correct. That would mean Dec. 27 is still available for the Gophers to fill the opening on Stanford's schedule, perhaps the start of a good home-and-home. The game would be @ Stanford, and a perfect lead into the B1G schedule, a true road game, which so far Richie doesn't have on the non-conference schedule.

I hope you're right, but I'm not confident. That last game before B1G opener is almost always a stinker.

Very wishful thinking on my part, Holy Man. I'm begging.

SS - do you have a composite of confirmed Gopher opponents so far someplace for easy reference? Sorry, if there's someplace you've posted it and I've missed it. Basically, I'm wondering what we know up to this point for the Gophers' non-con schedule? Could you post?

See top of thread.

All the games except for Milwaukee and Kansas City are confirmed via official tournament release or release of opponents' non-conference schedule.

Thanks SS! Always appreciate the update.

On a related note, I have a buddy who is a bigtime Jackrabbit fan who says SDSU is playing in the Barn in December. I have no idea if he's right, but he's excited about it and I tend to believe he would know. So, that could be one of the two remaining open dates.

SDSU would make it 3 Summit League opponents on the schedule. Would be unusual to have 3 from one conference, but maybe Pitino has decided to give this schedule a regional flavor, based on what we know so far.

Would that make us Summit League Champions!! Another trophy for the Barn.
