Is Hoiberg Just A Bunch of Bull

I think it's clear that Hoiberg is a for-real coach and knows what he's doing. That said, IMHO, he'd be a downgrade from Thibodeau.

It looked like he was one adjustment behind the UAB coach all game long. May have just had a bad day but he didn't have an answer when his best player was struggling.

He's been rumored to the NBA since the day he went to whatever city Iowa St. is in. This wouldn't be that big of a surprise. I know the TWolves would like him to come coach here as well. I think its really up to Freddie where he wants to be. You don't have to recruit at the NBA level, which makes it a little easier.

I saw most of the second half and it looked like his guys just got outhustled and outworked, especially on the boards. UAB dominated them with their effort. If it's a motivation issue from his end, shame on Fred, but it just had the feel of the players coasting and believing they would eventually hit their three point stride and break it open. It never happened and they busted a bunch of brackets. There are very few teams that can play at less than 100% and expect to win in the NCAA's. Cyclones learned that the hard way.

If Hoiberg ever leaves ISU, it will be for the NBA - not for another college job. He owns Ames, and most of the fans feel he can do no wrong. The 'Clones would have to really go into the tank in order for Freddy to feel the hot seat. It's almost a perfect situation for a coach - he's living in his hometown, all his family is there, and as long as the program is competitive, he can have the job for life.

And, let's not forget, this is a guy who had some serious health issues at a fairly young age. That may have an impact on how he views his career going forward.

Of course the only person who REALLY knows what he'll do is Doggie.

If the Chicago job opened that would be a pretty good opportunity to get into the NBA, much better than the Twolves. College has it's negatives mainly being dependent on recruiting successfully, the NBA requires travel and job security is very tenuous.

Chicago may be a better job right know but the Bulls don't have a lot of really young talent. The Wolves future may be better with Wiggins and hopefully Towns or Okafor.

What? Rose only has about 4 years of wear and tear on him ;)

We know the Wolves will get the lowest possible pick, #6 or so...

Job security is trumped by the 5 year $35 million contract. That is lifetime security. Unless you are an NBA player, then its barely being able to feed your 12 kids and 8 baby mamas and 3 years to bankruptcy.

The NBA is so much about free agency, players rarely stay with a franchise as long as Garnet did, I just feel that Chicago has a much better chance of attracting free agents, a lot of that depends on a given team but the Twolves haven't exactly attracted many top players over the years.

Maybe this group of young players will stay together with the Twolves, hasn't happened yet in the the life of the franchise though.
