All Things Theo John Recruiting Thread

Go Gophers!!

That interview, albeit brief, is impressive for a sophomore-soon-to-be-junior. Seems like he really gets it, especially the part about defense, shot blocking, and limiting possessions being all about "hustle." Didn't realize that he has a 7'3" wingspan. Gotta love his enthusiasm for defense, especially since his size would obviously allow him to dominate on offense as well. He looked like a man already compared to the other kids in the high school tournament with his build. Lock him up!

caught an interview on KFAN yesterday with Ryan James about John. He said gophers expect him to be there center of the future and it sounded like he fully believes Pitino will sign John.

Love it. Hope it's true.

Wright I would hope is getting major Gopher interest as well. In a way I hope John doesn't attract blueblood interest and at the same time a Duke, Mich St or Kansas offer would indicate his talent. Maybe Pitino getting the three, four years building relationships with kids will be tough to beat on instate kids.

Not a good performance tonight against Hopkins. It was hard to picture Theo as a top 100 player after finally getting to see him play in person but plan on catching a few more games in hopes of seeing something special. McKinley Wright, El-Amin & Coffey showcased their talent.

Big dude though.

Yeah tough to judge on one game because if you would of watched him against DeLaSalle he had a very nice game.

What's the latest on Mr. John?

Update is he is another strong tall kid with very little offensive game. We have enough of those with Konate, ghaston and Lynch.

And all 3 will be seniors Theo's freshman year. More athletic and skilled than BK and Gaston. We don't know what Lynch will bring on offense next year.

No. He has great hands and uses both hands in the post already. A true 4 and has good range out to just inside the 3 pt line but that's it. Tremendous shot blocking ability and athleticism. Tendency to get into foul trouble and pout. Shoots free throws well.

the kid looks like exactly the type of guy Pitino says he wants his 5s to look like. Mobile big who can rim run and be active on the glass. Probably never going to average more than 7 shots a game but will give you 8-10 points, 6-8 rebounds, block a shot, set good picks and anchor the defense.

Said this earlier. Reminds me of John Thomas

Its been reported (a while ago) that Pitino wants him as his center of the future.

Can he...

Get tip ins and tap backs?

Block shots and box out?

Run paint to paint?

Set screens and be able to show on screens?

Dunk?

He is a very slid player. And athletic for his size. Perfect for Pitino. Sign him up
