Thought this was interesting to see how our "best" recruiter is ranked within the B1G based on each recruits 24/7 composite score.

"Sawvel is the primary recruiter for Rogers, a junior college safety with a rating of 85 according to the 247Sports Composite. It is hoped Rogers can come in and contribute immediately. All six of Sawvel’s commitments are three-star recruits."

I'd rather wait to see what goes on on the field each year than obsess about recruiting rankings, much less rankings of recruiters based on said recruiting rankings.

Not me. I love this stuff. It helps me to figure why the Gophers don't win Big 10 Championships and New Years Day bowl games. After all, Mase always told us that recruiting is 80% of success in college football.

The Gophers top recruiter is Jay Sawvel and he is ranked 41st in the Big 10 and 218th in Division I.

Top Recruiters for each Big Ten team

KERRY COOMBS, Ohio State
National rank; 11
Big Ten rank: 1
Number of commitments: 7
Highest rated commitment: Five-star linebacker Justin Hilliard
Next OSU coach in the rankings: Stan Drayton (13)
Details: Coombs is the top-ranked recruiter on the Big Ten team with the top rated class thus far. Hilliard and running back Michael Weber are his two biggest commits.

JOSH GATTIS, Penn State
National rank; 29
Big Ten rank: 3
Number of commitments: 5
Highest rated commitment: Four-star cornerback John Reid
Next PSU coach in the rankings: Charles Huff (37)
Details: Gattis has five commitments, and all four of them are four-star prospects according to the 247Sports Composite. Wide receiver Juwan Johnson was also a big get for Gattis.

CHARLTON WARREN, Nebraska
National rank; 67
Big Ten rank: 6
Number of commitments: 4
Highest rated commitment: Four-star cornerback Eric Lee
Next NU coach in the rankings: Mike Cavanaugh (89)
Details: Warren is responsible for landing Lee, the most important recruit in the Huskers’ class. Since he is the lone holdover from Bo Pelini’s staff, Warren has stronger relationships with many of the Huskers targets.
Josh Gattis has four four-star commits for Penn State in the 2015 class.

JEFF GENYK, Wisconsin
National rank; 83
Big Ten rank: 9
Number of commitments: 5
Highest rated commitment: Three-star tight end Kyle Penniston
Next Wisconsin coach in the rankings: Bill Busch (129)
Details: Like Nebraska, Wisconsin is another program that recently underwent a coaching change, so the staff is trying to hold on to commitments the previous staff had while also landing commits from new players. Penniston committed almost a year ago, so it will be a nice save if the Badgers keep the California prospect.

TERRY SAMUEL, Michigan State
National rank; 93
Big Ten rank: 11
Number of commitments: 3
Highest rated commitment: Four-star defensive tackle Kyonta Stallworth
Next MSU coach in the rankings: Brad Salem (148)
Details: We think Samuel could climb the rankings because he could get credit for holding on to recruits that former defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi recruited before leaving for Pitt.

REESE MORGAN, Iowa
National rank; 100
Big Ten rank: 12
Number of commitments: 4
Highest rated commitment: Three-star offensive lineman Landan Paulsen
Next Iowa coach in the rankings: Brian Ferentz (132)
Details: Morgan landed a commitment from Landan Paulsen and his brother Levi, giving the Hawkeyes to solid offensive linemen in the 2015 class. Replenishing the line is going to be key with guys like Brandon Scherff moving on to the NFL.

DENNIS SPRINGER, Northwestern
National rank; 120
Big Ten rank: 15
Number of commitments: 4
Highest rated commitment: Three-star offensive lineman Jared Thomas
Next NU coach in the rankings: Bob Heffner (134)
Details: Springer has four commitments in the fold, and they are all three-star prospects according to the 247Sports Composite. The Wildcats wide receivers coach has two wideouts among his four commits.

KEVIN JOHNS, Indiana
National rank; 133
Big Ten rank: 19
Number of commitments: 7
Highest rated commitment: Three-star wide receiver Leon Thornton
Next IU coach in the rankings: Greg Frey (141)
Details: Johns is the primary recruiter on Thornton, and is also the secondary recruiter on offensive tackle Brandon Knight – who is ranked slightly higher than Thornton in the 247Sports Composite.

ALEX GOLESH, Illinois
National rank; 182
Big Ten rank: 31
Number of commitments: 8
Highest rated commitment: Three-star linebacker Justice Williams
Next Illini coach in the rankings: Tim Banks (222)
Details: Golesh has six three-stars and two two-star prospects in the fold. He is the primary recruiter on Williams, and is also the secondary recruiter on running back Dre Brown – who is an 87 in the 247Sports Composite.

GERAD PARKER, Purdue
National rank; 196
Big Ten rank: 33
Number of commitments: 3
Highest rated commitment: Three-star quarterback Elijah Sinedelar
Next Purdue coach in the rankings: Taver Johnson (228)
Details: All three of Parker’s commits are three-star prospects, headed by Sinedelar. The quarterback is a good get for the Boilermakers, who beat out teams like Illinois and his home-state Kentucky Wildcats to land the quarterback.

GREG STUDRAWA, Maryland
National rank; 206
Big Ten rank: 35
Number of commitments: 4
Highest rated commitment: Three-star center Mason Zimmerman
Next Terps coach in the rankings: Mike Locksley (223)
Details: Studrawa is the offensive line coach, and three of his four commits will are linemen. All four of his commits are three-star prospects, and two are in-state prospects. The others are from Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Charlton Warren is the lone holdover from Bo Pelini's Nebraska staff.

JAY SAWVEL, Minnesota
National rank; 218
Big Ten rank: 41
Number of commitments: 6
Highest rated commitment: Three-star defensive back Charlie Rogers
Next Gophers coach in the rankings: Brian Anderson (226)
Details: Sawvel is the primary recruiter for Rogers, a junior college safety with a rating of 85 according to the 247Sports Composite. It is hoped Rogers can come in and contribute immediately. All six of Sawvel’s commitments are three-star recruits.

DARRELL WILSON, Rutgers
National rank; 291
Big Ten rank: 59
Number of commitments: 3
Highest rated commitment: Three-star running back Charles Snorweah
Next RU coach in the rankings: Jim Panagos (350)
Details: Wilson has three three-star prospects to his credit, led by Snorweah. The Scarlet Knights secondary coach also has a safety in the fold – three-star prospect Ronnie James from Glassboro, N.J.

FRED JACKSON, Michigan
National rank; 311
Big Ten rank: 62
Number of commitments: 1
Highest rated commitment: Four-star athlete Brian Cole
Next UM coach in the rankings: Dan Ferrigno (329)
Details: Jackson only has one commitment to his credit, but it is a big one. In-state star Cole is a four-star in the 247Sports Composite and is ranked the No. 73 player in the country according to the Composite. He has a rating of 96. Jackson and the other Michigan coaches will climb on the recruiter rankings list as they land more commitments for new coach Jim Harbaugh.
