2015 Nationalchamps.net Early Bird Top 25: TCU #1

On paper, 2015 Big Ten should look a lot like it did this season.

East will be OSU & MSU and then everyone else.

West will again be more wide open that the East with Wisconsin, Gophers, and Nebraska though, interestingly, one could argue all 3 are lacking elite-level QBs, unlike the two top squads in the East.

Trying to figure out who could be a sleeper next year in the Big Ten. Maybe Penn State, if they can find a way to keep Hackenberg off his back side? The defense was certainly plenty good enough this season.

How about Illinois? Showed enough improvement down the stretch to at least temporarily get Beckman off the hot seat. They'll bring back eight starters on offense, including QB Lunt, RB Ferguson and their top three receivers and seven starters on defense, including three All-Conference honorable mentions. Schedule is a mixed bag, drawing Ohio State and Penn State from the East.

Looking at those preview rankings... I'm more interested in knowing why the Gophers fall out of the top 25, than I am in TCU being #1.

Agree. And why is Becky at #21? If so, that will be short lived after Bama smokes them.

That actually sounds like a good pick. Didn't know that about Illinois. They have improved their win total every year under Beckman.

The fact that they won a conference championship?

First no Conference Championship Game. Co-Champion is their best claim. But they lost to Baylor head to head. Bob Bowlsby touted the head to head round robin conference and a true champion. And he didn't get one. He has two options get the NCAA to grant a waiver to hold a Championship game. Or sign another team to the league. Until he does one or the other Baylor or TCU or whomever will have to run the table to make the claim they are the Champion of the Big 12.

Ah yes, so TCU did win a conference championship. I'm glad you were willing to admit that.

Pretty sure the Big 12 champion(s) is/are whoever the Big 12 says they are.
