The Gophers could be back at full strength just in time for their Thanksgiving road trip to Boston. Junior defenseman Brady Skjei and senior forward Travis Boyd practiced with the team this week and should be back in the lineup as early as Friday night against No. 12 Boston College.

Both of the veteran skaters suffered lower-body injuries against St. Cloud State over Halloween weekend.

Skjei’s return was expected this weekend, but Gophers coach Don Lucia thought Boyd might require more time to heal. Lucia said they would evaluate Boyd during Wednesday’s practice and determine if he would make the trip.

“[Brady] started practicing end of last week so he’s going full-go, right now. Again we’ll look to evaluate and see how the week goes, but certainly looks like he’ll be on the trip,” Lucia said. “Travis skated yesterday, he looked good. Again, that’s something we’re evaluating and we’ll see how practice goes for him today, whether he is on the trip or in a position to play on the weekend.”
