Sorry to go all dpodoll on you, but Washington is not bowl eligible yet. They need 7 wins because they have a 13 game season due to their road trip to Hawaii.

Good catch, forgot about the "road game @ Hawaii" rule. Will fix.

The only reason I know that is because I have been keeping an eye on bowl eligibility myself. But I focus more on bowl eligibility elimination. I watch each year in hope that there will not be enough bowl eligible teams to fill all the games just to see how they justify a team going bowling with a losing record.

So we are guaranteed Florida , South Carolina, Winner of Stan/Cal, Wash/Oregon St.

I hope Middle Tennessee gets in for our SoS. Not that anyone will actually use that in our favor.

The Big Ten could get to 11 eligible with eight tie-ins. Similarly, the Pac-12 could get 10 teams eligible, but they only have seven bowl tie-ins.

The SEC should have 10 eligible after this weekend and could add one more if Bert upsets Ole Miss, and will definitely add one more with the winner of next week's Tennessee-Kentucky game, but the league will get three or four teams into the New Year's games, so that would free up one or two of their tie-ins.

The Big 12 will not fill their bowl obligations, barring an Oklahoma State miracle. The Cactus Bowl in Tempe could be a landing spot for Northwestern, if they beat Purdue and Illinois to become eligible.

The ACC has 10 tie-ins, and unless Florida State falters, that will rise to 11 with the automatic Orange Bowl berth, but the league should fill its slots. Counting Notre Dame, Virginia Tech should be the 10th team eligible this week, and if North Carolina doesn't get eligible tonight vs. Duke, they'll be favored to do so next week vs. NC State.

Even with 38 bowl games, it will be a scramble to land at-large bids this year. Especially since Conference USA has back-up agreements with the Independence Bowl and Armed Forces Bowl, both of which could be left open. Even if Marshall gets the New Year's bowl nod from the committee, they have three other teams currently eligible for five spots, with a good chance at getting three more eligible (MTSU, UAB, Western Kentucky) for those back-ups. That could take a bowl bid away from a Big Ten or Pac-12 team.
