Forward Jonny Brodzinski has heard about it, heard some more about it, tired of hearing about it ... and heard more about it.
His younger brother, Michael, plays defense for the top-ranked University of Minnesota men’s hockey team. Jonny is in his junior season for St. Cloud State.
The brothers’ teams played one another twice last season and the Gophers won both games. The last time they met, Minnesota beat St. Cloud State to advance to the Frozen Four.
“It was pretty much all he talked about,” Jonny said of his brother rubbing it in. “At family get-togethers, it is pretty much all St. Cloud (State) besides Michael. My uncle John is a big Minnesota fan.
“(John’s) got season tickets to the Gophers and for us,” said Jonny, whose father, Mike, played for St. Cloud State and Minnesota. “A couple of my mom’s brothers are Gophers fans, as well.”
