For comparison:

Non-Conference Records:
SEC: 27-4 (.871)
Pac 12: 21-4 (.840)
ACC: 29-7 (.806)
Big 12: 17-7 (.708)
Big 10: 22-11 (.667)

vs. FBS Opponents:
SEC: 18-4 (.818)
Pac 12: 14-4 (.778)
ACC: 13-7 (.650)
Big 12: 9-6 (.600)
Big 10: 13-11 (.542)

Big 10 vs. "Power 5" Conferences (and Notre Dame):
1-9 (.100)

Big Ten vs. Ranked Teams:
0-3 (.000) with a combined score of 105-51

Yikes. Thanks for posting the Power 5 number. I was just thinking to myself "Rutgers over WSU can't be our signature win, can it?" I guess it can. We are a terrible conference right now.

The Big Ten stinks.

"God awful" is the phrase that comes to mind.

I'd almost take NDSU over any team in the Big Ten.

Seriously not trolling.

Pretty sad when the signature win comes against an 0-2 team...

Thought that myself today. It is possible NDSU would win the West.

You've just created the signature line for every poster at NDSU's forum...whatever that is.

Except I didn't say it because I thought NDSU is so damn good. They wouldn't win a game in the SEC. I said it because the Big Ten is so damn awful.

Has the Big Ten ever looked this bad? Is this a new low we are seeing?

Better to lay eggs now than build up a bunch of hype and get routed in all the major bowl games....maybe? :(

I believe this thread needs to be changed to: How bad is the Big MAC?

Thread: How bad is the Big 10?

It is so bad there are now 14 teams and still can't win any non-conference games.

Looks like it could be another year where MSU beats all its conference opponents by double digits. Biggest problem is QB play. Who's NFL material other than Cook and Hackenberg? Lots of mediocre or worse QBs.

All I know is that the special sauce went bad a couple of weeks ago.....but is still being used.

Indiana's offense and our defense could make a 10 win squad. If we could just do that.

It is this fact that makes our inability to take the next step all the more frustrating. The Big Ten is so mediocre from top to bottom right now yet we still (at least to this point) have not been able to find any way to separate from the pack.

Everyone scoffed at adding Rutgers and Maryland to the B1G, but they may be the best teams in the conference.

It is so bad that the media should refer to "The Big Four" in regard to football. The Big Ten is absolutely horrible. Our conference has no business even talking about being considered for the playoffs. We really needed Missouri and Notre Dame instead of Maryland and Rutgers.

I hate to say it, but I was thinking the same thing earlier today.

At this point, I don't want to hear any complaints about media perception being the reason the Big Ten isn't respected. We have played like garbage so far this year, and our conference has earned every disrespectful comment the media makes.

This is a good year to not have North Dakota State on our schedule. Unfortunately, we're scheduled to play the Jackrabbits in 2019.

The Big 10 is looking so bad, it is embarrassing to be in it. What is really embarrassing is that a handful of teams will have a losing record in this garbage conference (unless, by some bizarre miracle, everybody goes 4-4).

At this point I wouldn't rule out everyone going 4-4 with maybe a few exceptions at the very bottom and maybe MSU and OSU at the top. Overall the conference is looking terrible compared to all the other power conferences and the quality of football has not been good across the board. MSU still looks like the class of the conference but that really isn't saying much at this point as nearly every other team seems to have minor or in most cases major flaws right now.

And why does Michigan St. look like the class of the conference by a country mile? Because they have a competent QB that can compete at a high level. I'd be really surprised if they didn't go 9-0 in Big Ten games this year.

It's a horrible start to the year for sure. But the Big Ten has had bad starts before only to finish with some of the best teams.

The problem is really that there isn't an elite team that is in the conversation as a NC contender RIGHT NOW. And that has people freaked-out. The odds are overwhelming that this will change. There will be at least one 1-loss team in the playoff. Maybe 2. One of those will almost certainly be a Big Ten team. Though Nebraska or PSU haven't even lost yet.

And West Virgina instead of Nebraska.

This is confusing. Your Bison play the Jackrabbits every year don't they?

Well, none of the national sportswriters were predicting a Big Ten team in the playoffs even prior to yesterday and CBS Sports predicts only one in the BCS at-large bowls (Michigan State). 1-9 (I think 1-10 now) against the other four power conference teams (with the one win being Washington State) pretty much reflects the state of things right now. The poster who quipped that the Big Ten should be renamed the Big MAC isn't too far off.
