Boy's got some wheels!

Welcome aboard! Great athlete, if he doesn't work out at QB, I could see him as another Donovahn Jones too.

WAT?! NO WESTERN MICHIGAN OFFER?! BLASPHEMY!

"program changer", i'm excited, but dear lord

Highlights. Absolutely LOVE his height. Poor man's Terrelle Pryor. Makes up for James Morgan. #20 Dual threat QB on 247 with a grade of 88 with 89 being the highest for a 3 star and 80 being the lowest so very good.

Also makes up for the Jeff Jones and Omari Stringer news a little bit. Not quite such a bad day to be a gopher after all.

per 247: Croft makes the call for Kill and Minnesota

"It's pretty exciting for me and my family," Croft told 247Sports shortly after pulling the trigger. "I've been working really hard these past few years and it's finally paying off."

"The facilities are amazing, Croft said. "Everything is so new and clean. The locker room is amazing. The stadium that's also pretty awesome. The new turf field they just put in, the renovations they're having, and the Vikings are going to play there the next few years, that's awesome to know I'm going to playing on the same field as Adrian Peterson does.

Also cousins with Donovahn Jones.

STrib: Gophers land a big quarterback target in Croft

The Gophers landed a quarterback they've been coveting Monday night, when Demry Croft, from Rockford (Ill.) Boylan Catholic, gave them a verbal commitment.

Croft is a 6-5, 190-pound dual-threat quarterback who impressed Gophers coaches at a camp this past month. A consensus three-star recruit, Croft has a big frame, a good arm and plenty of athleticism. Northern Illinois is among the other schools who've offered him a scholarship.

So now maybe the Vikings are helping the Gophers?

Good get, he looks like an incredible athlete.

Beat me to it. All the moaning and wailing about the Vikings and this kid is pointing out the upgrades taking place to the stadium and the fact that the Vikings are going to play there as something he liked. Bet that will change a few tunes around here about the whole Vikings situation.

Certainly looks like a heck of an athlete. A little surprising though that a 6'5", 200 lbs QB is only really getting MAC offers at this point (assuming of course the list on Rivals is correct). I wonder how legit of a QB prospect he is, maybe more of an athlete, like someone else mentioned, maybe a lot like a D. Jones type.

Can't ever have too many athletes though.

I really like this kid. Great wheels and those long strides make him deceptively fast a la Pryor for OSU. Mechanics and footwork are a little sloppy but he does have a good amount of natural arm strength if you watch some of his throws off balance. Shows some ability to improv and keep his eyes down the field. I think he's got the build and style that Kill and Co want in their QB and if he doesn't work out, he's got the type of wheels that he can contribute in other ways. Solid pick up. It'll be interesting to see if he gets more offers down the road. Could see some coming in from other schools based on his measurables.

Sign up that announcer!

Sky's the limit with this kid. Seems smart and obviously the big time measurables. Rivals and 247 diverge on their ratings, 5.4 two star vs 88 high three (what's up with the 247 ranking tanking mid-June?) probably since he's plenty raw. Should be interesting to see what happens his Sr. campaign.

Scout has yet to weigh in so the oracle Gerry Dinardo should be announcing our zero star recruit sometime soon.

Did I read that he hasn't even played a full season of QB? Or am I mistaken? If true that makes me even more excited about his potential.
