Jerry Kill, former SIU and current Minnesota football coach, on Tuesday praised the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a spiritually based nonprofit organization that serves coaches and athletes nationwide.
A recent inductee of the Saluki Hall of Fame, Kill was the guest speaker Tuesday at the Southern Illinois FCA Home Team Banquet in the SIU Student Center Ballrooms.
About 480 people attended the event, which offered an opportunity for guests to make pledges to financially support the area's FCA chapter, which has 65 groups in 26 Southern Illinois counties.
