Penn State has a road game against Bucknell, and Rutgers for some inexplicable reason is playing at Monmouth. Just saw also that Purdue will host Indiana State.

Are you aware of any schools that have officially released their nonconference or entire schedules? So far all I've found on school web sites are noncon skeds for Texas, Arizona, and Kansas. Usually by this time a few of the smaller schools have released their noncon skeds.

On another note, I see that Iowa State and South Carolina are playing a neutral-site game in Brookyn on Jan. 3. Both Freddy Hoiberg and Frank Martin are putting together pretty solid nonconference schedules so far.

You said in your blog that the Gophers’ schedule next season will probably be tougher than last season when it was a top-10 strength of schedule in the country. Do you still believe that?

Yeah. You’re playing Louisville. You’re ACC/Big Ten Challenge game is on the road (at Wake Forest). We play in the preseason NIT (Gonzaga, Georgia, St. John’s). It’s impossible to not play a top schedule when you’re in one of the top conferences in college basketball. You’re always going to be in the top 30 or 40 strength of schedule. So we’ve got to, as we’re building, we have to play games against Louisville to help our brand. You’ve got to be creative as much as possible. So your RPI and strength of schedule are very good.

Arizona State appears to be finished with their nonconference schedule as well. On their website, the schedule is listed towards the bottom of a long article about what their roster will look like for next season.
 


Northwestern will be hosting Stanford this season. Also, Iowa will host Longwood and Michigan will apparently host Toledo. Rutgers at Seton Hall appears to be set for Dec. 6.

Ohio State's season opener will be UMass-Lowell on Nov. 14. I also saw some chatter about a couple Penn State games, one being a possible home game against Drexel, probably as a non-bracketed game in the Charleston Classic, and the other being a game on Dec. 22 at the PPL Center in Allentown. Not sure who the opponent is for that game, but the rumor is that it's Lafayette.

For the Rutgers game specifically, Jon Rothstein of CBS tweeted that out. He's a pretty good source of scheduling info during the offseason. As for other games, I don't think I use any truly unique search phrases on Google, sometimes I have just stumbled across something by accident.

NCAA qualifier Saint Joe's will be part of NIT Season Tip-Off

According to CBS' Jon Rothstein.

Reportedly the Hawks and their famous mascot will be in the Saint John's' (4-team) Regional, meaning the Gophers couldn't face the Hawks until their 3rd NIT game, at the earliest.

Unofficially, that leaves 6 of the 16 NIT Season Tip-Off spots filled. ... Gophers, Georgia, Gonzaga, Saint John's, Saint Joseph's, and Western Kentucky. It's a pretty safe bet WKU will land in the Georgia Regional.

Scarlet Knights will host 2014 NCAA qualifier GW on Nov. 16.
 


Jimmy V Classic matchup changed

Illinois (instead of B1G newbie Maryland) will now play Villanova on Dec. 9.
 

It looks like someone on a Butler message board leaked their nonconference schedule, and it says they will play Northwestern on Dec. 6.

Any chance you can post a link? I went to the Butler message board and couldn't find the thread. There's a Creighton blogger that does a great job with all the Big East schedules, the White & Blue Review. Did the same thing when Creighton was in the MVC.

I know it's just a typo, but I like the idea of Louisville and Kentucky sharing the 2013 national title. I'd watch that reality show.
 



According to http://www.insidethehall.com/future-indiana-basketball-schedules/, Indiana will be hosting Lamar as part of their exempt event. I also saw in the article that they used as a source that there will be a TSU involved in this as well. My guess is that because Lamar is in Texas, the TSU is referring to Texas Southern. This would be interesting because Texas Southern is coached by Hoosier fan whipping boy Mike Davis.
 


Per CBS' Jon Rothstein, Indiana will play Georgetown on Dec. 27 @ Madison Square Garden.
 

Purdue released their nonconference schedule this morning. The home slate looks really weak outside of the NC State game. Apparently Indiana State isn't on the schedule, even though I had read in a few places that it was likely to happen, maybe they just couldn't find a date that worked for both sides. They will host Samford on Nov. 14, IUPUI on Nov. 16, and Grambling on Nov. 20. Not sure which of them is their Maui on the Mainland game, but I know it isn't IUPUI because they are already in the Gotham Classic. After Maui and the NC State game, they host North Florida on Dec. 6, IPFW on Dec. 8, and Arkansas State on Dec. 10. They will then play at Vanderbilt on Dec. 13, followed by Notre Dame and then a home game against Gardner-Webb on Dec. 22.

According to http://www.nycbuckets.com/non-conference-schedule-tracker/, Sacred Heart will be playing at both Ohio State and Rutgers. Also, St. Peter's will be one of the home opponents for Rutgers in the Barclays Center Classic. The other home game in the event will be against one of these 3 teams: Norfolk State, St. Francis (NY) or Tennessee State. Of some interest to Gopher fans is that this page also says that Stony Brook will be playing in the NIT Season Tip-Off, but it doesn't say which region they are in. On another note, the Iowa-Northern Iowa game is going to be on Dec. 20.
 

Michigan State will play at Navy on Nov. 14 as part of a new event, the Veterans Classic. It will be the second game of a doubleheader, after Tennessee vs. VCU.
 

Inside the Hall is now saying that Indiana will host New Orleans this season.
