Minnesota is in 3rd at the ncaa tourney. Gophers in third place with 80.0 points behind Penn State with 91.0 points and Oklahoma State with 87.5 points.

Gophers end day in second place, just .5 behind Penn State. Oklahoma State is in third with 87.5 points.

Gophers went 5-0 in today medal round and take the lead over Penn State heading into tonight NCAA Wrestling finals. each team have 2 wrestler in final matches.

Gophers Lead 104 to 101.5 over Penn State.

Tony Nelson loses his match in the HW and will be no 3 time national champ for Nelson. boooo.

It's really too bad that we are 1.5 pts behind PSU right now, all because the wrestler who upset one of our Gophers, then forfeited his 5th place match vs a PSU wrestler, giving that PSU wrestler TWO bonus points.

If that kid had just gone out and wrestled, he could have lost as long as it wasn't by tech fall or by pin and the Gopher's would be in 1st right now and Ness getting a pin would then guarantee us the Title. But no, PSU got 2 unearned bonus points and now Ness has to get a pin if PSU's guy wins, or at least a win if PSU's guy Taylor somehow gets upset. If Taylor gets a tech fall, its over and Gophers can't win, all because of a medical forfeit.

Kind of bs if you ask me.

Ness loses his 157 match and Penn State have clinch it 4th straight ncaa wrestling title.

So close and great matches through the tourney. Too bad Nelson made one mistake and it cost him the match.

Well, this years NCAA tournament was akin to watching your favorite football team lose the Natl Championship game by 3 pts, knowing that the team put together a perfect drive to end the 1st half, having put themselves in position to score to end the half with time for 3 plays, 2 passes to the endzone, perfectly placed right on the numbers of 2 different receivers, both of whom simply dropped the ball, so settling for a field goal instead.

Yup. So excruciatingly close.

It's unfortunate that both of the Dardanes ended up not having great tournaments . If they had wrestled up to their seeds , or just placed , the team results would have been different.
