Looks like someone wants a raise and an extension.

I want Marquette to go after Manning.

You can't leave after one year there, Tubby. I don't miss the annual rumors. I suppose we have at most a year before we have to hear them for Pitino though.

When that one year is in Lubbock, yes you can. Haha

South Florida has reportedly offered UNLV's Dave Rice it's head coaching position. (vaughn anyone?)

Wake Forest is reportedly interested in Tubby Smith and Danny Manning for its head coaching position.

Boston College is reportedly holding out hope for Tommy Amaker. If he declines, it sounds like Mike Hopkins is their man. Other candidates apparently include: Mark Schmidt and Walter McCarty (yes, former NBA player). Jim Calhoun is no longer interested.

FWIW, Marshall is looking at Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni.

ESPN: Cuonzo Martin meets with Marquette

Marquette officials met Sunday with Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin, and there is significant interest from the Golden Eagles in hiring Martin away from the Vols, multiple sources told ESPN.com.

Sources told ESPN.com that discussions are underway between the two parties, but Tennessee still has an opportunity to keep Martin.

USF to hire Kentucky's Orlando Antigua

South Florida will hire Kentucky assistant Orlando Antigua as its next head basketball coach, multiple sources told CBSSports.com.

A press conference is expected to occur on Tuesday afternoon.

Antigua has been on John Calipari's staff at Kentucky since 2009 and spent the prior season under Calipari at Memphis.

Weird that it is being announced now. They still have a game to play. Good hire though.

CBS: Former Oregon coach Ernie Kent hired at Washington State

Ernie Kent will be the next head coach at Washington State, the school has announced.

Kent is most known for his time at Oregon, where he spent 13 seasons. He made five NCAA Tournaments, including two Elite Eight runs in 2002 and 2007. The 59-year-old parted ways with the Ducks following a 16-16 campaign in 2009-10.

Kent started his coaching career at Saint Mary's. He has a 325-254 career record.

"I'm looking forward to providing the kind of passion and leadership to help potential student-athletes understand how special WSU is," Kent said in a statement. "Getting back into coaching for me has meant finding the right program that matches up with my passion, my vision, my beliefs and my commitment; and I feel Washington State University fits all that criteria for me. Bill Moos has a vision and has created enormous energy around Cougar Athletics and I want to be a part of that. Now is the time."

Martin took his name out of consideration for the Marquette job. Sounds like Wojo could be the guy there now.

Is Wardle just that unsexy of a name that they wont take him?

I have watched many UWGB games this year, and his in game coaching I've questioned numerous times however he does have a knack for making adjustments at half. Also, his out of bounds plays and ability to bring SOME talent to Green Bay have been quite impressive.

He's probably still in the mix, though kind of a last resort. He has the whole "abuse" thing which could be an issue. He's also a huge step down from names like Shaka and Howland.

The abuse thing was used as a case study on what TO do with unruly employees at my employer. Making guys run hills with **** in their pants is the premier form of motivation around here.

That's a great hire if he can avoid rules violations. He'd be a great NBA hire.

Telephone calls? That's so 2007. He'll just snap chat them now. And tell them how much he's thinking about them. A whole lot. Wait... I might be mixing up IU coaches.

I saw the name Saul and misinterpreted (yep 12:50) the tweet and freaked out. Thought Ohio went from a tourney run a couple years ago with Groce to hiring Saul SMITH. Holy cow, that'd be a nightmare for the Bobcats. Aside from coach Phillips' emotional post-loss press conference, I think he's a great hire. He's learned a lot from his days under Bo, but his style is more open, similar to the adjustments Bo made this year.

This is a great hire for Ohio, I thought Phillips could get a better gig, if he held out a little longer. Suppose easier to take that next step to a power six conference from the MAC compared to the Summit

Saw his average salary per year goes from like $175K to $550k so it would be pretty tough to pass that up.

True money talks especially when they triple your pay. If recent history suggest Ohio is a good stepping stone to a destination job.

Basically the same path Miles took. MAC can be a good conference and solid talent base in Ohio, and solid recruiting base in Minnesota. He'll still be able to mine our place for the just under the B1G type talent. He will do well there. Nice pay increase and excellent stepping stone to power 6.

So in the span of ~3 months, the Buffs lose both HCs to Wyoming (not Washington) and Ohio (not tOSU)?!?! Funny. Stepping stone to another stepping stone.

AO54 and the rest, must be crestfallen. Radio silence.

All that said, and despite his previous employer's fan base, I think SP will do well, and I am quite sure he (Phillips) "gets it".

Nice to see cooler heads prevail with this situation. He made a mistake, he's fixing it and everyone moves on:

Manhattan keeps Steve Masiello

Manhattan has decided to retain coach Steve Masiello and will reinstate him once he completes his undergraduate degree, the school announced Monday.

Masiello will be placed on unpaid leave until he completes his undergraduate degree at Kentucky, Manhattan said in a statement. Associate head coach Matt Grady will serve as interim head coach during Masiello's absence.

"I am extremely grateful and humbled by the opportunity to continue as the head men's basketball coach at Manhattan College," Masiello said in the statement. "I made a mistake that could have cost me my job at an institution I love. Details matter. Manhattan College has shown me a great deal of compassion and trust during this process, and I will do everything in my power to uphold that trust. I understand that I am very fortunate to have the chance to remain here at Manhattan."

According to multiple sources, Masiello is approximately 10 credits shy -- and will take classes to finish his degree in the next couple months.
