I don't know. I've read a few national articles indicating as such. A recent ESPN article cited Dieng as the reason Love may reconsider. Point is. Dieng is THAT good. Anyone who watches their games can see that.

Pretty big jump to go straight from DII to the SEC - though he did have 3 DII Final Fours and won the national title last season.

He's been a really successful D@ coach and he's assisted at Mizzou in the past, he's around the same age Bo was when UW hired, maybe a a couple years older. Roughly the same age Tubby was his first year too. I know people like hiring young, but if he last 10-15 years that's a good run and he would be in his late 60's early 70's there's been plenty of successful coaches in that age group.
 

SI: Coach Craig Robinson fired by Oregon State

Oregon State fired head coach Craig Robinson on Sunday night, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Robinson's six-year tenure ends with a 93-104 record and no NCAA Tournament appearances. The Beavers went 16-16 last season and are losing all five starters from that team.

The biggest surprise of the firing of Robinson, the brother-in-law of President Barack Obama, comes with the timing. Oregon State's season ended six weeks ago with a loss to Radford in the CBI and Robinson had reportedly received support from Oregon State's administration. Robinson has three more years remaining on this contract and the university is expected to owe him more than $4 million dollars.

That is strange timing. Robinson seems like a really good guy, but he just hasn't been able to turn the corner in Corvallis.

How long will it be before we get a statement from President Obama and/or Michelle admonishing Oregon State?

Bo Ryan is a decent comparison as he was 54 when he took over Wisconsin. As far as Tubby goes, I'm assuming you mean when Minnesota hired him? He was 40 when he got his first D1 job at Tulsa.

Honestly I never understood why he got the Oregon State job, he never won the Ivy league against Brown, I know he was second to some good Cornell teams, but I feel like being the first lady's brother got him the job and not his performance.

The simple answer is desperation. The previous coach had been Lute Olson's top guy at AZ and so screwed things up that his last team went winless in the PAC 10. Reportedly the AD got turned down by several targets and this hire came out of the blue. After the first year it seemed like brilliant move.
The team played much better and the family connections opened doors in recruiting and he pulled in much better players. When he had his own guys he switched from a Princeton style slow down offense to a running style. The problem was he was an awful in game coach and could never coach defense. The apex was a couple years ago and it has been going steadily downhill. He did help connect with some of the NBA alums and helped get a practice facility built. They were looking at the probability that the women's team would outdraw the men's next season. It appears that a couple of transfers calling out his poor coaching was the final straw. Thank god they finally canned him. It should have been five weeks ago.
