All Things Gophers Basketball 2017 Recruiting Thread

So if this kid grows the 3 inches like Shanks did since his freshmen year, he would be 7'2"? WOW

Carson shanks is 7', someone wrote he was 6'9" as a freshmen, he grew 3 inches. If 6'11 Adam Trapp grows 3 inches he would be 7'2". Not to many people over 7'.

ahhh I don't know how I misread that....
Adam will be running with Howard Pulley 15's, his sister is a 6'9" Frosh at UCLA Borton did not offer her. Another 2018
playing up for Pulley has Coffey for a last name ,he is from Hopkins and is listed at 6'4"

Borton didn't offer a Minnesota girl that is 6'9? That seems ridiculous. Height like that is incredibly rare in the women's game that you pretty much have to offer as long as the girl is somewhat talented and coachable.

I've heard he already has some pretty bad knees. Also, I believe he only played on the actual 8th grade team this year. I don't think he was on the JV or even the C-team for Esko. Not to say that he's not talented, but I would think with that height he'd be playing up. That height is pretty crazy though. Side note: His older sister (I believe a 10th grader this year, maybe an 11th grader) actually quit basketball this year. Pretty surprising.

Futuregopher, what is your take on us getting Davison? Please tell me he is for sure going to stay home.... You think he will stay home?

Can't trust a list that doesn't even have Gary Trent Jr in the top100.

Go Gophers!!

"The son of former Timberwolves forward Gary Trent is a 6-foot-4 long distance shooter with a developing all-around game. His frame is obviously different from his 6-8, 250-pound father who was a physically intimidating low-post presence years ago"

Iowa st. first to pull trigger on the very versatile 6'7'" Islander Goanar Mar
Did the brain trust deem him worthy of a scholarship offer and did the brain trust inform Pitino of his worthiness or lack thereof?

A name to keep an eye on for 2017 is JUCO Chris Sandifer. The Gophers were rumored to have interest in Sandifer out of HS, but he committed to UTEP. Word just came down recently that he didn't qualify and will be going to...Chipola Junior College. For those that don't know, Chipola is where Carlos Morris played his JUCO ball. I don't have any inside info, just connecting dots on a player who might pop up on the radar in a couple years.

EG#9

Do you recall if Pitino had connections with Chipola prior to Carlos?

It's going to be exciting to see what this staff can do when they have 2 or 3 years to recruit these high level recruits. They've already done a fantastic job with much less time so far.
